A psychiatrist has found that people who are angry and cynical are five times as likely to die under the age of 50 as people who are calm and trusting. This differs from what many researchers used to believe: that Type A people—people who work too hard and are always in a hurry—were likely to die early from heart disease. Personally, I agree that hostility, rather than stress, leads to premature death.
